As reported by Yale Environment 360, there are many untrue statements regarding renewable energy. This restrains the necessary transition from fossil fuels and nuclear energy to renewable energy if we are to aid the ever-growing climate crisis. Myths such as: “A grid that increasingly relies on renewable energy is an unreliable grid”, “Countries like Germany must continue to rely on fossil fuels to stabilize the grid and back up variable wind and solar power”, or “Because solar and wind energy can be generated only when the sun is shining or the wind is blowing, they cannot be the basis of a grid that has to provide electricity 24/7, year-round”, aren’t factually correct and contribute to negative perceptions associated with transitioning to cleaner energy sources. Go here to find out why: https://e360.yale.edu/features/three-myths-about-renewable-energy-and-the-grid-debunked
